Snow Hill Nunnery Redware Bowl

This fine redware bowl is one of a group of bowls made for the Snow Hill Nunnery located near Quincy, Franklin County, PA. This group of circa1840 bowls are attributed to John Bell. The bowl features green and cream colored slip decoration and a sun motif with striped rays, surrounded by alternating straight and wavy banding. The bowl is in excellent condition however, there is a 1/4 inch chip on the rim. DIA: 10.5".
