This American polychrome painted lantern from the first half of the 19th century was found in Lancaster County, PA. The frame of the lantern is made of oak and the circular top, candle holder, and the carry ring is made of tin. The lantern was in the personal collection of Jerry Martin and he replaced the carry ring and the the candleholder. There is a small piece of wood missing from the base plate and there is a crack in the top plate. (see photographs) W: 6.5", D: 6.5", H: 17".
