This is a very rare cherry and birdseye maple dwarf grandfather clock from Pennsylvania. New England dwarf clocks are not common, but there are many more examples from the New England States than from Pennsylvania. This clock is from the second quarter of the 19th century and has a German weight driven movement with a brass and porcelain dial. The movement is held in the hood by a stencil painted surround and a pair of wood supports in the rear. The case retains the original surface and is all original with the exception of the two outside finials. I do not know if the movement is functional because there are no weights or a pendulum. W: 10", D: 6", H: 46".
