This painted tin downspout is dated 1851 and was found in Pennsylvania. There are several coats of paint under the present coat of brown paint. A metal strip was added to the inside of the back of the downspout so that it could be hung from the hole in the center. A galvanized piece of tin was added inside the downspout. The two later additions are not visible when the downspout is hung on the wall. The downspout may have had two pieces of tin that would have extended out from the section where the eagle is in order to attach the downspout to a building. W: 11.5", D: 7", H: 17".
