Folk Art Presentation Partridge Drawing

This is a ink and pen drawing by Dr. William Hallowell (1801-1890) a Quaker preacher, dentist, and physician that lived in Norristown, PA. The drawing was presented by William Hallowell to Amy Ann Reeder in 1850. The large partridge is an ink and pen drawing, the smaller partridges and the decorative motifs around the presentation are stencils, the blue border and the tree is made of silk, and the four decorative ovals in the corners are needlework. The drawing is in good condition with some light water stains and foxing. The drawing retains the original frame. W:13", H:17".
