English Still Life Watercolor

This beautifully executed watercolor, from the mid 19th century, was  likely painted in England. The watercolor features two promissory notes from London draped from the open drawer of the painted table. An opened letter, a rolled sketch of the Morlands, two gold coins, The Gentleman's Polite Companion, and other items are on the top of the table. The watercolor is in good condition with some small areas of foxing. The frame is original, however there is significant loss to the outside edge. There is a note on the back stating that Parke-Bernet estimated the value of the watercolor to be $800.00 in 1974. Sight W: 18", H: 13.5".
