Cherry Kentucky Sugar Chest

This cherry sugar chest is most likely from Kentucky and was made around 1840. The sugar chest is made in two pieces with a dovetailed chest on a Sheraton style turned leg base. The secondary wood is poplar and there are diamond shaped key hole escutcheons on both the chest and the drawer.The chest has been refinished and the hasp for the lock is missing.
